The new Benny Fisher single is two-and-a-half minutes of indie pop escapism.
Benny says: “As a songwriter, Lovers Rock is one of those songs that you wish came along more often. Once I had the idea of lover’s rock being a place (a hill or a mountain and not a reggae sub-genre) the song pretty much wrote itself.”

“It’s about a young couple with amorous feelings who do not have a place of their own. Maybe they still live with their parents, there’s no room or privacy, so they go to lover’s rock. Sometimes you can struggle with a song, but this one was a joy, and I had some fun adding flute, glockenspiel and a squelchy synth sound.”
